Welcome:

Based in Champaign-Urbana, IL, Desafinado is a seven piece ensemble that plays a combination of Samba, Bossa Nova, and MPB (Musica Popular Brasileira).

Venues we have played include Chicago's Millenium Park, The Chicago Cultural Center, The Krannert Center for the Performing Arts, 2009 Artists Against AIDS benefit, The Springer Cultural Center, The Up Club, VIV Wine Bar, The Cowboy Monkey, and Pages for All Ages.

We have been featured on local NPR affiliate WILL AM-580, Channel 12 TV, as well as community radio station WEFT 90.1 FM. Desafinado was nominated "Best Jazz Artist" by WPGU (107.1 FM) for the 2007, 2008, and 2009 local music awards, and the band has received positive reviews in local entertainment guide Buzz Magazine.
